VEGETARIAN SOCIETY OF COLORADO INVITES PUBLIC TO
ANNUAL THANKSGIVING POTLUCK CELEBRATION
Delicious Fare, Turkeys Spared…All Are Invited!
DENVER, CO---November 17, 2003---FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE:
The Vegetarian Society of Colorado (VSC) is pleased
to invite the public to its 29th Annual Thanksgiving
Vegetarian Celebration in Denver. It will be held
Thursday,
November 27, 2003 at noon, at the Washington Park
United Methodist Church at 1955 E. Arizona, in Denver (corner of E.
Arizona and S. High St.), just a few blocks east of Washington Park.
The cost to attend the potluck is a small donation
of $5 per person (children twelve and under are free); each attendee
should bring a vegetarian dish that can serve about eight people, serving
utensil for the dish, place setting for himself/herself, and a recipe card
listing the ingredients. Vegetarian food contains no meat,
fish, or fowl, in any form, with or without the addition of dairy products
or eggs.
"We hope to see many new faces at this year’s
Thanksgiving Celebration – we welcome anyone who is curious about
vegetarianism, or just wants to celebrate the holiday in a different way
this year," said Nan Lovell, VSC President. "Our turkey-free
Thanksgiving Celebration may become a tradition for your family,
too!"
This year’s Vegetarian Thanksgiving Celebration will
also include a Silent Auction to benefit the VSC. Attendees at the potluck
will be able to participate in this charity auction sponsored by numerous
award-winning manufacturers of vegetarian products, including Vegan
Essentials, EarthSave, Veggie Date, Pangea, Chocolate Decadence,
Vegetarian Times, Vegan Cat, a DVD set from Dr. McDougall, and Samson
Juicers.
The Potluck location is just a few blocks east of
Washington Park. The lake nearby is a wonderful place to stroll after
enjoying the meal – yes, vegetarians get just as full at Thanksgiving!
