Membership Meeting
Hi, VSC members--
As fall rolls around we start thinking of ways the VSC can continue and improve our efforts to help the public understand the health, animal-related, and environmental issues surrounding the food choices they make.
Obesity is now a national crisis, driving the cost of health care even higher, while meat consumption rises by means of the slaughter of billions of animals, and environmental devastation worsens. Our outreach is needed more than ever.
The VSC Board hopes all of you will re-dedicate yourselves to the cause, and join us for a planning meeting to be held at 3:00 pm immediately before the VSC Denver September potluck on Sunday, September 19. The potluck (and vegan dessert sampling by One More Bite) is stated as "gather at 4:00, eat at 5:00" and will be held at the home of George and Ellen
Pelton, 6689 S. Piney Creek Rd. in Aurora (for
details, click here).
Directions: On I-25, go to take the Arapahoe Road exit and go
east. From the intersection of E. Arapahoe and S. Parker Rd., go 1
1/2 miles further east. When the road narrows, turn in the first
driveway on the left. The Peltons' phone number is 303-699-1507.
Among other agenda items, we will invite your ideas and participation in planning a Front Range Thanksgiving celebration and other events, and in the exciting new Veg Feasting book publishing project. You'll hear about ways we need help in maintaining a strong organization and attracting new members. And we want to hear
from you about what you would like to see us do and could help make happen.
Every one of us makes a difference--we hope to see you at 3 pm Sept. 19!
