Meet Sherman & Justice

Sherman was the sole survivor of a defunct dairy farm. Somehow he escaped the trip to the slaughterhouse that his mother, sisters and friends did not. He was found searching for food by a neighbor’s horse pasture. He was all alone with no food, water or shelter.

Here at Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary, he joins Justice, another steer who escaped murder. Justice had been living with the Bishops and his companion, Peace. Peace died last year, and Justice had been lonely ever since.

Now Sherman and Justice roam the prairie, munch on grasses, hay and donated fresh produce, occasionally visit the neighbor horses through the fence, and lounge in the tall grass. The boys are best friends and inseparable.

Sherman moooos loudly at our front door every morning for his daily chin scratch while Justice waits patiently; then they head off into the field side by side.
