Howard Lyman Speaking at PPA Event

Prairie Preservation Alliance (PPA) is sponsoring an EVENING WITH HOWARD LYMAN on Thursday, September 16th at the Mercury Café, 2199 California St in Denver, to support their critical work to protect and restore America’s diminishing shortgrass prairie.
A former cattleman, Lyman wrote Mad Cowboy, in which he exposed the important health and humanitarian concerns associated with the production and consumption of beef. During her interview with Lyman, Oprah Winfrey announced that she would “never eat another hamburger”.
Cost of the event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. is $25. $35 will include a VIP reception with Lyman from 6 to 6:30 p.m. For tickets and additional information, call Gloria at 303.666.9843 or email her at

Among PPA’s numerous accomplishments, the organization has partnered with multiple cities along the Front Range to construct physical barriers that allow people to coexist with wildlife in the urban setting. PPA is also working with Denver International Airport to establish an area that encourages visitors to and from the airport to view native prairie plants and animals – species that thrived before the introduction of cattle.
Additionally, PPA is dedicated to purchasing tracts of land along the Front Range and on the Eastern Plains with the intent of restoring areas of plants and animals that exemplify our Colorado heritage.
