Walk for Farm AnimalsPlease join us for the 2002 Walk for Farm Animals in honor of World Farm Animal Day. The walk will take place on Saturday *28 September 2002 on the 16th Street Mall in Denver, Colorado. We will gather at the 16th Street Mall shuttle station under the covered shuttle stop, at the SE end of the 16th Street Mall (near Colfax). We will meet at 11 AM and begin walking at 11:15 AM. We will walk on the right hand side, when facing NW, to the other end of the mall and return on the other side. You can shuttle to catch up with us, if we leave before you arrive, and you can shuttle back, if walking the full length of the mall is just too much. Please begin working out now, so we have as many of you as possible for the full walk. There is a $10 registration fee, and every walker will receive a T-shirt. To have your shirt by the time of the walk, you’ll have to have your registration form and check, or money order in by 14 September, 2 weeks prior to the walk. I will have forms, and will mail them to you, or will try to have them at locations around town, which will hopefully be convenient for most of you. Sometimes messages and e-mail can and do get lost. So does my mind from time to time. Feel free to dress as your favorite farm animal, or wear your own, specially made farm animal ears, or masks. We will have a few posters, but you may make your own creations. PLEASE do not make posters that will turn stomachs, or scare little children. We are trying to bring attention to a better way of eating and living, which does not cause harm to helpless creatures, in a pleasant way with a fun event. We hope this event will be fun for the walkers as well as the passers by. Please pass this information to your friends. *The rain date for this event will be Sunday 29 September, only if the weather is really horrible (hail, thunderstorms, tornadoes, etc).
