Boulder Events

Congratulations, Logan Barrett, our new Boulder branch coordinator, who has already scheduled these events:

1. Hiking and Tubing
Date: Saturday, July 19th

Please join us Saturday as we hike Mt. Sanitas. This is a moderate hike, but a great workout as we hike to the top and enjoy the beautiful view of Boulder! We will start at 9:00am -- the hike will take less than two hours and, since we will then be really hot (yes, we will), we are going tubing down Boulder Creek. Email Logan at boulder@vsc.org for exact details, or with any questions.

2.Dinner and a Show
Date: Saturday, July 26th

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is in full swing! We are going to see Hamlet on Saturday night at 8:30. We have already been to The Taming of the Shrew and had a great time. No Cliff notes are necessary! We will meet on the CU Boulder campus at 6:30 and walk to Alexander's for a great vegan burrito, then back to campus for the show. Please email Logan at boulder@vsc.org for exact details, or with any questions.

3. Picnic and Shakespeare
Date: Saturday, August 2nd

We have now been to two plays at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival on the CU Boulder Campus, and loved both of them! This night, we are going to see Much Ado About Nothing in the Mary Rippon Outdoor Theatre. The play starts at 8:00. We are meeting at the ticket area at 7:00, and having a picnic on the lawn before the show. Please email me with questions, or for more details at boulder@vsc.org.

4. Picnic and Shakespeare
Date: Friday, August 8th

The only play we have left to see at the Shakespeare Festival is Hamlet.
Again, we will meet at 7:00 at the ticket area, and picnic on the lawn before the show. This play starts at 8:00 as well, in the gorgeous outdoor theatre. Please email me at the above address with any questions.

4. Hiking and Tubing
Date: Saturday, August 9th

It's August in Colorado, so let's get out and enjoy it! We are hiking Mt. Sanitas at 9:00 am -- the hike will take less than two hours. Then we will cool off by tubing down Boulder Creek. We had so much fun last time, we just had to do this again before summer is over -- and Stephanie J. drew quite a crowd with her acrobatic prowess and pink tubing ensemble! Please email me at boulder@vsc.org for more details.

5. UPC Conference
Dates: Saturday & Sunday, August 16th & 17th

Hosted by United Poultry Concerns, the forum topic is: How to Promote Veganism Widely and Effectively. The forum will be on the University of Colorado Boulder Campus, and the VSC will have a table at the event. You can find out more about the forum by going to the link on our home page.
The local organizers are still looking for volunteers to help with food service, video recording, and other activities -- if you can commit to helping out, or just have general questions about the Boulder area and CU Campus, please email me at boulder@vsc.org.

6. Boulder Potluck
Date: Friday, August 22nd

The Boulder Vegetarian Co-op has graciously allowed us the use of their commons area to have our monthly potlucks! We are meeting in the commons area from 7:00-8:30, at 1904 Pearl St (19th & Pearl). Please bring a vegetarian or vegan dish, your own place setting and drink, and a card listing all of your ingredients. Our events are always open to anyone interested in learning more about plant based diets, so if you are new to vegetarianism, please feel free to contatct me for ideas about what to bring --or come as our guest if this is your first time! There is no charge, but we will be taking donations to help support the Boulder Co-op. Please contact me at boulder@vsc.org with any questions.
