COLORADO SPRINGS EVENTS FOR MAY AND JUNE

Sunday May 5, Potluck 5:00pm at Monument Valley Park ( near I-25 and Uintah). Please bring a plant-based dish to serve 8 people, place setting and drink. This park offers a wonderful multi-use trail that runs parallel to the Monument River. Come early and take a stroll.

Saturday May 18, Hike 9:00am at Waldo Canyon off of Hwy 24 west of Manitou. Everyone will meet at the hike’s own parking lot. Bring adequate walking shoes, extra water, and a camera.

Thursday May 23, Silver Pond Restaurant 6:00pm. Voted “the Best” Chinese cuisine and ambiance in the Springs by both the Gazette and the Independent for several years running.

Sunday June 9, Potluck 5:00pm at Flanigan Park (near Fillmore and Nevada). Please bring a plant-based dish to serve 8 people, place setting and drink.

Saturday June 15, Hike 9:00am at Bear Creek Regional Park on 26^th St off of Hwy 24 (Cimarron St). Everyone will meet at the Bear Creek Nature Center. Bring adequate walking shoes, extra water, and a camera and bird seed.

Saturday, June 22, Trip to the Boulder Farmers Market. Join the VSC for lunch at the Boulder Farmers Market. We will be meeting at the Wal-Mart off of I-25 and N. Academy at 9:00am. The Market offers a wide variety of organic produce, flowers, plants, and homemade treats. After lunch, enjoy a stroll down Boulders Main St. for an afternoon of shopping and artist sidewalk performances.

Friday June 28, Wild Ginger Restaurant 6:00pm. “The Spicy Alternative to Southwestern Cuisine.”

The VSC welcomes all of our new members in the Springs area. We look forward to meeting you at one of our events. We also want to thank Barbara Harrington for graciously accepting to host the March potluck at her home. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed meeting her three standard poodles. Thanks again to Kassy Helwig for writing restaurant reviews. Look for her next article in the July issue of the VSC newsletter. The VSC welcomes back Logan Barrett who moved from the Springs to Boulder. We look forward in joining her and the Boulder Chapter for various events throughout the summer.
