VSC Spending Money Wisely

by Unny Nambudiripad, VSC Treasurer

Looking over the last year, I.m pleased to say that the VSC is spending money wisely. We maximized money spent on programs and our income sources
were diverse. About one-third of our expenses went towards producing
these newsletters, and the vast majority of our income came from our membership. It's our membership that makes our programs possible!

Some notables:

* Most small non-profits find it challenging to keep administrative costs
low. The VSC spent 25% on administrative costs. Much of that money went for insurance for our events, and it is hard to keep that expense down.

* Most non-profit income nationwide comes from middle-income individual
donors. Our heavy reliance on individual donors like you ensures a secure
financial future for the VSC.

* Overall, the VSC's revenues were about 10% above its expenses. While we will need to be sure to not build up to large of a reserve this year, the
VSC is in healthy financial shape.

If you have any questions about the VSC finances, don.t hesistate to
contact Unny Nambudiripad, VSC Treasurer at treasurer@vsc.org, by phone at
