The VSC invites its members to a fun and inspirational gathering April 26 at 1 pm at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore located at 960 S Colorado Blvd to discuss Jane Goodall's book "Reason for Hope." ($10 @Amazon.com)

As a young woman, Jane Goodall was best known for her groundbreaking fieldwork with the chimpanzees of Gombe, Africa where she developing meaningful relationships with her "specimens" and honoring their lives as she would other humans. Reason for Hope is a smoothly written memoir describing the realities of environmental destruction, animal abuse, and genocide and Jane's antidote to the poison of despair with specific examples of why she has not lost faith.
