Many people in this country do not realize that 60-70% of the foods that
they buy in the grocery stores contains genetically engineered ingredients. In recent polls, 93-98% of Americans say that they would like these foods to be labeled, but our elected officials are ignoring the consumer and instead listening to the special interests of the
biotech industry. These foods are untested and unregulated and pose
grave threats to our health and to the health of our environment.

Patrick West, Director of the Colorado Genetic Engineering Action
Network, will be speaking at the Boulder VSC potluck on March 10th. Come listen to his presentation and have your questions answered. What is it? What are the risks to our health, to the environment, to animals? What about all those industry promises? What can I do?

Juicing for Health and Vitality

What: Presentation on Juicing

Where: Jamba Juice in Boulder – 3053 Arapahoe

When: 6:00pm – Sunday, April 14th

To Do: Bring a Vegetarian Potluck dish to share, with recipe, and your own table setting

Everyone’s heard of Wine Tasting Classes – right? Well, leave the wine behind and bring your empty stomachs to Juice Tasting 101.

Did you know that it is recommended that you consume two glasses of live juices each and every day for health maintenance?

Also, juicing is an easy way to add fruits and vegetables to your diet, while boosting your health! Fruits and vegetables are superb sources for vitamins, minerals and other nutrients, including phytochemicals, which have been shown to combat cancer.

We will discuss and juice 3 types of juices: Green Juices or "Green Drinks", which cleanse the body of pollutants and help purify the blood, Vegetable Juices, which act as restorers by boosting the immune system and Fruit Juices, which help cleanse the body and nourish it with antioxidants.

Everyone will be invited to a tasty 4-ounce cup of each juice. And because juices are best if consumed on an empty stomach, we will juice and drink up first and then dive into the potluck goodies that we share with one another. See you there!
