VSC Board Elections -- 2003

The VSC Board is pleased to present the following candidates for the new VSC Board, with the branch they represent in parentheses:

Keith Akers (Metro Denver)
Val Deskins (Ft. Collins)
Marian Dorn (Grand Junction)
Barb Forrest (Carbondale)
Joe Gierlach (Boulder)
Stephanie Gierlach (Boulder)
Audress Johnson (Mountain)
Rose Lake (Colorado Springs)
Nan Lovell (Boulder)
Paige Newman (Durango)
Shelli Smith (Metro Denver)

The VSC Bylaws stipulate a maximum of fifteen positions on the Board of Directors, with each branch to have at least one representative. Since there are fewer candidates than positions, the elections this year are a formality. If you wish, please vote by January 31, 2003, by sending in a ballot to VSC Election, P. O. Box 6773, Denver, CO 80206, writing on a sheet of paper the candidates you are voting for; or alternatively you may e-mail your ballot to elections@vsc.org.

The board has just approved a new branch, the Carbondale branch. It's not official yet, but we're working on a branch in Pueblo also. The VSC is now sufficiently spread out so that board meetings are becoming quite a problem, with branches all over the state! One of the first tasks of the new board will be to fill the many job positions which are now open, which are described elsewhere.
